JUSTIN PARKES - SCOTTISH STEELWORKS AND THE COAL-FIRED IRONWORKS INDUSTRY

Justin Parkes has been Industrial History Curator for North Lanarkshire Council, based at Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life in Coatbridge, since 2008. He is a committee member of the Scottish Transport & Industrial Collections & Knowledge (STICK) network.


STEPHEN CLANCY - URBAN HISTORIAN - THE LIVES OF PAISLEY WEAVERS

Stephen graduated from the University of Glasgow with a MA(Hons) in History. Stephen has worked as an archaeologist on many digs in Paisley & taught numerous university courses in local history & genealogy.  Stephen now carries out genealogical and historical research while delivering local talks and walking tours.

DR IRENE O'BRIEN - MY ANCESTOR WAS...

Dr Irene O’Brien,  City Archivist for Glasgow, regularly speaks at local, national and International events, bringing to life the wonderful City Archives resources, and helping audiences discover the stories of long gone Scottish ancestors. She was a member of Strathclyde University Board for Post-Graduate Genealogical Studies and lecturer.

NEIL FRASER - HISTORIC ENVIRONMENT SCOTLAND'S INDUSTRIAL COLLECTIONS

Neil joined the heritage world with Scran in 2001. Scran became a service of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland in 2008 who then joined with Historic Scotland to become Historic Environment Scotland in 2015. Neil is committed to helping the public enjoy the fantastic archive resources that HES has to offer.
